For many families, nearly all of their investment goes toward what happens when their player has the puck—shooting, stickhandling, skating, and puck skills. But hockey is not played with the puck all the time. Over 95% of the game is about what a player does without it. On offence away from the puck, defending the puck, or defending away from the puck.
